Job description

Salary £26,485 - £30,012 (permanent)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and confident Support Worker to help us deliver our work with offenders in Custody and Through the Gate to help them address their resettlement goals.

Are you brilliantly organised, caring, non-judgemental and self-motivated with bags of initiative? If you’re enthusiastic about creating a society where everyone reaches their potential, then this is the ideal role for you.

Whilst graduates and people with guidance qualifications are welcome to apply, we’re not insisting on a university degree, we are far more interested in your experience, attitude and the approach you can bring to the role.

The Support Worker job will involve working with people in custody, on licence or subject to community supervision by the National Probation Service (NPS), to engage them in learning, training and employment opportunities, either through one-to-one or group work.

We are looking for someone with experience of supporting offenders or other vulnerable groups. You’ll need to be:

* proactive,

* a good communicator and non-judgemental in your approach

* effective at working with partner organisations to ensure the best results for our participants.

* comfortable working on databases as recording accurate information is an important part of the job, so you’ll need to have strong attention to detail.

We are especially looking for applicants who can connect with people to help move them forward, embrace the quality and compliance requirements and have the skills to work towards individual performance targets. You may move locations from time to time, but excess mileage will be paid from your main base of work in Peter St, Manchester.

We’ll give you all the training you need and provide you with support to get established in the new role. It’s a very rewarding job and a brilliant team to be part of. As an equal opportunities employer, we are keen to ensure our workforce is diversely representative of the people we serve. Applications from people from under-represented groups are always welcomed.

Package:

Our full-time staff enjoy a reasonable 35h working week and we also offer flexi-time, so when we ask our staff to do extra, we always make sure they’ve got those hours to take back another time. It’s a great benefit of working for Career Connect. We also welcome applicants looking for part time work.

Support Workers are paid on a scale between £26,485 and £30,012 and you will be reimbursed for any additional travel, beyond your main base of work. Our holidays start at 25 days + Bank Holidays + Birthday Leave and we give up to an extra 6 days a year for staff with longer service.

Some of our Benefits include the following:

* Flexi time

* Birthday Leave

* Confidential Employee Counselling Service

* Electric Vehicle Lease Scheme & Cyclescheme
